About me

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year. My name is Mr. Chau. I have been teaching math for over 20 years. I went to Cal State Los Angeles University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree and became a math teacher. While teaching math, I completed my Master’s Degree in Education. My main objective is to educate all my students in Mathematics according to the common core 8th grade concepts, which will help and prepare them to do well on SBAC and Algebra in the coming high school years. In my class, we will have significant opportunities to achieve success in our pursuit of being 21st century learners and workers.
The key to opening the door to these opportunities is for students to have a clear understanding of the importance and need for mathematical skills and the value of having sound mathematical habits of mind in the real world.
I also want my students to become better problem solvers throughout their lives through their use and awareness of mathematics concepts in a world that depends globally on math skillsets.
